Greg (Lead)MMust look old enough to be married for 22 years. Sylvia's new owner. Must be good at playing comedy. He's completely enamored of his new pet and clueless of how this is affecting the people around him, especially his wife.
Kate (Lead)FMust look old enough to be married for 22 years. Greg's wife. She doesn't understand her husband's fondness for Sylvia, and her resentment builds as the play goes on.
Tom (Supporting)MMust look old enough to be married for at least a few years. A guy's guy that Greg meets at the dog park.
Phyllis (Supporting)FAge negotiable. Kate's friend who gets drawn into the conflict between Kate and Greg over Sylvia.
Leslie (Supporting)M/FWritten as gender ambiguous. A marriage counselor that Kate goes to for help.
