NotesON THE TOWN, the energetic wartime musical about three sailors on a 24-hour leave in New York City, features thrilling music by Leonard Bernstein with playful lyrics and book by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. The show’s celebrated score includes a number of musical theatre standards, including “Come Up to My Place,” I Can Cook, Too,” “Some Other Time,” and “New York, New York.”
InstructionsPlease prepare 16-32 bars of a Musical Theatre song in the style of the show. Please be prepared to dance following the vocal audition. Ladies, please wear character shoes. If you cannot make auditions, please email Ashley at Nicastro_ashley@yahoo.com.

HILDYF0A cab driver who is desperately hungry for a man, but also has a soft side. Must be strong comic actress and have strong singing voice.

JUDGE PITKINM0Engaged to Clair de Loone, he is a bit too understanding of Clair’s problems with man. A dignified older gentleman with great comic timing. Non-dancing role.

MADAME DILLYF0Ivy’s singing teacher and very much a lush. She is a bit of a conniver with a strong comedic presence. Will double as other roles, including Diana Dream/Dolores Dolores & others. Non-dancing role.

Should be able to present himself as a big and strong person, as he is said to resemble a statue of a prehistoric man in the Natural History Museum. Must be strong dancer.

CHIP (Lead)M0The most naïve of the three sailors and the one least interested in meeting a girl during his day in the City (but not completely uninterested). He wants to see the sights of the City so he can tell his Dad all about them. Must be strong comic actor and strong dancer.
