Set For Sale
Skull and Bones Drama Club of Wellington C. Mepham High School in the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District recently wrapped its production of Disney’s Freaky Friday—a Long Island premiere!  The set for the production has been modeled after the La Jolla production, consisting of four columns, all on casters that make movement on and off stage simple and easy.  Each column’s side hosts a different scene, and altogether they create a full picture.  All columns have two door panels that open by 270 degrees to render the stage left and stage right sides neutral, depending on what side is facing downstage.  The sides are as follows:
  • Side 1: Blake House, Kitchen (refrigerator, oven/microwave, counter with cabinets, sink with cabinets)
  • Side 2 (Reverse of Side 1): High School, Hallway (red locker panels)
  • Side 3: Blake House, Backyard (All four contain lattice panels interwoven with ivy and roses)
  • Side 4 (Reverse of Side 3): Antique stores (Secondhand Mose and Mrs. Time’s Shop)/Ellie’s and Katherine’s closets

I received great feedback on the set; it was built by a parent who is an architect.  The audience was impressed with its quality, and it looked great throughout the whole show.  This set has only been used for three performances, and it would be a shame to let this go to waste.  Altogether, the set cost $2000.00 to produce.

If there is any school or theatrical organization in the Long Island region that would like to purchase this, please feel free to contact me, Edward Grosskreuz, English Teacher and Skull and Bones Director, at
