Description
Based on an original concept by Jack Viertel, The Prom tells the story of Emma, a high school student in Indiana who just wants to bring her girlfriend to prom. When the school board cancels the dance, four Broadway actors intervene, determined to give Emma the night she deserves. What follows is a heartwarming and hilarious story of acceptance, love, and the power of standing up for what's right.
The Prom features a book by Bob Martin and Chad Beguelin, with music by Matthew Sklar and lyrics by Beguelin. The original Broadway production was nominated for seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical.
