Second Story Man is a traditional Broadway type musical,
It is a Runyonesque fable written in the genre of Guys And Dolls, but entirely different. The hero, James, is a burglar, a second story man, which as you know is a "higher calling." He wants his son Ollie to follow in his footsteps. His son has his own ideas. His wife would never have married him had she known what his business was.Coney Island Mike, a loan shark, coerces him into continuing to rob assigned houses, even though he has promised his wife, that he would give up being a thief.
The show has belly laughs, memorable music, and great songs. You will go home with a smile, humming the tunes as you go. Great entertainment.
