The Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island is soliciting candidates for Tech Director and Costumer for our upcoming production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Gondoliers.
Rehearsals will generally occur Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday evenings at locations in Nassau County, NY, with performances that will run April through July, 2019. A small stipend will be provided.

The Gateway Performing Arts Center of Suffolk County is now accepting resumes for an Audio Assistant (A2) to start 8/21/18 and continue through 1/6/19.
The Audio Assistant (A2) reports to the Sound Engineer, and will run backstage audio for all mainstage productions.
Regular duties include:
* Prep / set up of wireless mics.
* Assist with testing, maintenance, and prep of wired and wireless audio components.
* Assist with testing, maintenance, and prep of wired and wireless comms.
* Assist with testing, maintenance, and prep of video monitors..
* Assist the sound engineer with the daily maintenance of sound equipment.
* Assist the sound engineer with load-in, load-out, and changeover.
* Troubleshoot all backstage audio components during performances.
* Maintain documentation of signal flow of all backstage audio components.
Opportunities to mix theatre-for-youth productions and special events will be given to qualified candidates as they arise, at the discretion of the sound engineer. Other duties within the department may be assigned on an as-needed basis.
* Proven ability to perform all duties described above.
* Bachelors degree in theatre with at least 2 seasons of professional experience as an assistant audio engineer at a comparable theatre to The Gateway or associates degree in theatre with at least 4 seasons of professional experience as an assistant audio engineer, or comparable professional experience.
* Team player who can work in a cooperative, fast-paced environment
The Audio Assistant (A2) is a full staff member in our production department. Pay is $300 – $350/wk (DOE). The Gateway provides housing for staff members, and will assist with travel to and from The Gateway.
The Gateway Performing Arts Center of Suffolk County is in its 69th season. Located on the south shore of Long Island about 90 minutes from NYC, The Gateway PACSC performs both at our home theatre in Bellport, NY (housing is located on the property), and at the Pathogue Theatre for the Performing Arts in Patchogue, NY (about 10 minutes away). Company management at The Gateway coordinates grocery trips and crew calls for those who do not have a car, but a number of shopping options are available in Bellport village (about a 10 minute walk from our main property).
The remainder of The Gateway’s 2018/19 season includes Cabaret, Marry Poppins jr., Flashdance (the musical), Gateway’s Haunted Playhouse, Les Miserables (school edition), and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, as well as additional limited engagement performances throughout the rest of the year.
