Roles
Role | M/F | Age | Description | SUSY HENDRIX (Lead) | F | 25-35 | Susy Hendrix, recently blinded in an accident, is still learning how to function without sight. She is suspicious of outsiders, and she has reason to be. She is unknowingly in possession of a doll filled with heroin, and three con men are out to make her give it up. When she realizes she is in danger, she fights back with her wits. | HARRY ROAT (Lead) | M | 30-55 | Roat is a ruthless criminal who masterminds the plot against Susy. He coerces the other two men into helping him, and he is cold-blooded and sadistic enough to do whatever he must to get what he wants. | MIKE TALMAN (Lead) | M | 35-45 | Talman is one of the con men coerced into helping Roat. He plays the concerned friend who drops in on Susy to see if she needs any help. He seems rough and unsophisticated in the beginning, but he plays the nice guy well enough to fool Susy for a while. Talman feels guilty in the end and turns on Roat. | CARLINO (Supporting) | M | 40-50 | Carlino is one of the con men coerced into helping Roat. He plays a bad cop who tries to intimidate Susy. | GLORIA (Supporting) | F | 12-15 | Gloria is the spirited young girl who lives in a nearby apartment. She is worried about Susy, and when she checks on her, Gloria realizes Susy needs her help. The two of them devise a counterplot to get back at the con men. | SAM (Supporting) | M | 30-40 | Susan's husband. A war veteran who met Susan while recovering from post-traumatic stress. He's a photographer trying to make his way in the world after the war. He's a survivor and unwilling to entertain thoughts of self-pity, either for himself or Susan. Busy and on the move, he may see less of what's happening in front of him than Susan does. |
