The Mainstage Players of Temple B’nai Torah of Wantagh, NY will be performing “THE WIZARD OF OZ” on April 30, May 1, 7 & 8 (See showtimes below). We are seeking a Musical Director to work with our experienced cast of adults and some child performers, as well (Our adorable Munchkins!)
Musical Director: We are in search of a Musical Director to help guide us along the Yellow Brick Road. Music rehearsals will be held on Monday (& some Thursday) evenings (6:45-9:30) and Sunday afternoons (11:45-1:30). Some Sunday rehearsals can be held in the evenings, to accommodate your schedule, if need be. In addition to attending all performances, our Musical Director will teach melodies and harmonies to the cast and provide vocal coaching, as well. The Musical Director will also help recruit & work with members of the pit orchestra and conduct them during dress rehearsals and performances.

Important Dates:

Rehearsals: Sundays 11:45-1:30; Mondays (& some Thursdays) 6:45-9:30 from January 23-April 18

Tech Week: April 24-28 Opening Night: Saturday, April 30 @ 8 PM Additional Shows: Sunday, May 1 @ 2 PM, Saturday, May 7 @ 8 PM & Sunday, May 8 @ 2 PM

The Community Synagogue Theater Company of Port Washington, NY proudly announces it’s spring production of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, to be performed at THE LANDMARK ON MAIN on April 7-April 10, 2022. Currently seeking to hire a MUSICAL DIRECTOR to round out a team of wonderful professionals.
Musical Director:
TCSTC is seeking a warm and talented Musical Director to lend their talent and technique to the creative process of bringing THE DROWSY CHAPERONE to the stage! Seeking someone who will be in attendance for all audition and rehearsal dates below, prepared to play the score on our in-house piano/keyboard in order to provide musical accompaniment to the rehearsal process, as well as teach melodies and harmonies and provide vocal coaching to the cast. The MD will also be responsible for recruiting/building the pit orchestra (8-10 members), teaching them and conducting the orchestra during the sitzprobe, dress rehearsals and performances.
Important Dates:
Auditions: Sunday, November 14 from 1-5pm and Wednesday, November 17 from 7-10pm.
Read Thru: Sunday, December 5 at 1pm
Rehearsals Sundays 2-5; Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7-10 from Dec 5-April 3 (except for school holidays/breaks)
Tech week: April 4-6
Opening Night: Thursday, April 7, 2022

Gilbert and Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island seeks Music Director for The Mikado

The Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island is seeking a candidate for the Music Director position for our 2022 production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s “The Mikado”.

The term of the engagement begins in mid-November, 2021, when auditions for principals will be held. A full-company “meet and greet” / principal read-through of dialogue takes place the first week of December. Musical rehearsals for chorus and principals will begin the first week of January, 2022. Staging rehearsals begin in early to mid-February.

Rehearsals are typically Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:30 – 10:00 PM in central Nassau County.  Dates: Mid-November 2021-June 2022 Tuesdays & Thursday 7:30-10pm

Performances with piano / principals begin in mid-April and run through the end of May.

Full-orchestra/company performances take place from approximately the last two weekends of June through the second weekend of July, 2022.

Each position pays a base salary of $2000.00. Bonus incentives will be given for any recruited performers who participate for the entire run.

Interviews will take place via Zoom or Google Meet in September 2021.
