SEEKING – MUSICAL DIRECTOR

Ocean Arts Theatricals working out of William Floyd is running a HS Summer Musical (Something Rotten). Commitment would be 8 weeks but they are flexible. They are about to cancel because they don’t have a music director.

Rehearsals in the evening. Auditions on the 13th, show dates are Aug 4th and 5th. If more details are needed please contact Jessica Martin at 631-294-5763.

Take A Bow Playhouse in Plainview offers children’s musical theatre classes. Our program strives to help our students build their self-esteem and self-confidence in a recreational environment. Our staff are trained to teach proper skills and technique, but we do so in a nurturing way.

We are currently looking for a new VOICE TEACHER for the 2022-2023 school year.

Requirements:
– Must be able to teach proper vocal technique
– Knowledge of producing a musical theatre performance
– Be great with children
– Patient
– Organized

Ideal candidates will also be proficient on the piano, but this is not required.

Responsibilities: 
– To be present at every class for which you are scheduled
– Teach age- appropriate techniques
– Showing by example
– Preparation of daily lessons plans
– Communication with fellow teachers
– Attend two student productions each year.
– Create a safe, fun and enjoyable environment

Schedule:
Available classes Monday- Friday from 4:00-6:00 as well as Saturday mornings from 9:30-11:30am. Looking to hire one teachers for all classes.

Opportunity to also teach private lessons and work at birthday parties!

SHOW: Princess IdaOPEN POSITION:
Music Director – Oversees all musical and conducting aspects of the production. Oversees all musical rehearsals and teaches music to the entire cast. Plays piano for all pre-staging rehearsals and will give 2 weeks prior notice if unable to perform this duty for a specific date. Conducts principal role auditions with Stage Director. Creates schedule for musical rehearsals. Makes and shares virtual part recordings for music learning and more individualized coaching where necessary. Conducts fully-orchestrated performances and organizes all orchestra members and music for fully-orchestrated performances.Rehearsal Dates: Beginning October 2022 Tuesdays & Thursdays 7:30pm-10pm ESTPerformance Dates:
Performances of piano/principal cast only begin Late April into early May.
Conducted full-orchestra/full-company performances take place in June through early July.Audition/Application Instructions:
